I was perusing (I peruse more often than you might think) some of the federal governments new crime legislation this week.

To the editor: Re: "Student pedestrian safety not just election issue," Sept. 6. As a regular visitor to the Gastown area, I can assure the 麻豆传媒映画city council that it has made matters much worse with the lower speed limit on Hastings Street.

To the editor: Re: "Oil is everywhere, whether you like it or not," Letters, Sept. 9. In a recent issue of the Courier, a person who claimed he is an environmentalist begrudged the fact that he was using oil-related products.

To the editor: Re: "Media, NPA feast on empty riot reports," Sept. 8. Will NPA Coun.

To the editor: Re: Seals, dolphins, students collide, Sept. 23. I wanted to take the time to clarify inaccurate statements in the story, Seals, Dolphins, Students Collide, published today in the 麻豆传媒映画Courier.

This column includes a clarification. When two worlds collide is a phrase often used to describe a moment when two seemingly opposite or unrelated events come together at one time.

To the editor: Re: "Cruising solo to Alaska a satisfying journey," Sept. 16. Well, I was thoroughly impressed with the adventurous nature of Brenda Jones on this fascinating trip.

Copyrights clash with Internet freedom

To the editor: I was working at a drug and alcohol treatment centre for girls aged 13 to 19 when the funding was cut to only justice beds-treatment or jail. So now we have gone from helping addicted children receive treatment to enabling them.

To the editor: Re: "麻豆传媒映画crack pipe giveaway will include children," Sept. 14. Mark Hasiuk's opinion piece on our upcoming safer crack smoking pilot project misrepresented the facts to make his point.
