School concert

The Britannia elementary school band, Britannia secondary bands, its world music ensemble, choir and special guests will perform at the Britannia secondary Cookie Concert. Dec 8. The event at 1001 Cotton Dr. also includes a bake sale.

Leaseholder's meet

The English Bay Leaseholders Association invites all leaseholders in the West End to their annual general meeting Saturday, Dec. 3, at 2 p.m. in the Denman Room, located within the West End Community Centre.

Cancer forum

Cancer patients and their loved ones are invited to the B.C. Cancer Agency Community Cancer Forum-a free public forum. The forum will help patients, supporters, and caregivers learn how to better navigate care and treatment.

Food to Fire Halls

The city's fire halls are accepting donations of nonperishable food items for the Greater Â鶹´«Ã½Ó³»­Food Bank.

Snowboard tryout

Got a passion for the pow pow? Live to free-ride or dream about the boomers? The B.C. Snowboard Association invites all snowboard athletes aged 13 to 18 to an open tryout for the provincial development program Dec. 3 at the Mount Seymour ski hill.

Disability day

Mark International Day of Persons with Disabilities Saturday by celebrating at an event sponsored by the City of Â鶹´«Ã½Ó³»­at Roundhouse Community Centre.

Vancouver's street paper Megaphone Magazine is launching a public awareness campaign with a special video projected at the corner of Robson and Howe beginning at 5 p.m. Nov. 30.
