You may have noticed that the municipal election were heading into is significantly different. Two things come to my mind: This is the first time in a dozen years an incumbent is running for mayor. The last one was Phillip Owen in 1999.

To the editor: Re: "Teenage housing nightmare part of growing Atira empire in Downtown Eastside," Aug. 23. You would think that with lots of government money coming in, Atira Property Management would provide good service.

Sometimes I hate the internet. Oh sure, it's great for finding people who disagree with your every opinion. In the past, getting into arguments required going out and talking to real people.

To the editor: Re: "Pre-season hockey fans outdo players," Oct. 3. I also attended that game (on free tix) and was also disappointed I wasn't seeing the "real team.

To the editor: Re: "Bike helmets don't reduce injuries," Letters, Oct. 5. The heading of one of your letters reads "Bike helmets don't reduce injuries" in big bold letters.

Let me tell you why I think we should find Premier Christy Clarks latest stunt so appalling. Im referring to her promotion of cameras in the courts during proceedings for those charged in relation to the Stanley Cup riot.

To the editor: If the 麻豆传媒映画police wish to focus on crosswalk violations, I suggest they stakeout the four marked but uncontrolled traffic lights at Mackenzie and Carnarvon streets, just west of Macdonald at West Broadway.
