To the editor: Re: "Wide awake," Feb. 10. The article by Rebekah Funk is comprehensive, but I would like to add information to the issue of quality of sleep.

Over the past few years, and ever since Jim Green lost his bid for mayor of Vancouver, I have been in regular if not frequent touch with him.

I鈥檝e made it to my 7 a.m. boot camp class at Eastside Fitness studio on Fraser Street every Friday since I started three weeks ago, despite having company in from out-of-town last Thursday night and enjoying a couple of (large) glasses of red wine.

Academy Awards provide star-gazing pleasure

To the editor: I was shocked by Mark Hasiuk's column on VANDU receiving $250,000 of provincial tax money. Politicians and civil servants need to start using some judgement and not reward those who contribute nothing but problems to society.

To the editor: It's important to consider the work VANDU does around disease prevention and education. Peer-to-peer education is recognized worldwide as the most effective method of preventing the spread of HIV/AIDS and hepatitis.

To the editor: Re: "Libraries court public opinion 'Free-for-all,'" Feb. 15. A book appears to escape as Ms. Singh triumphantly ascends to the shredding chamber.
