To the editor:
I was shocked by Mark Hasiuk's column on VANDU receiving $250,000 of provincial tax money.
Politicians and civil servants need to start using some judgement and not reward those who contribute nothing but problems to society. We need to stop pandering to liars and crooks no matter how loud they scream. We should have no obligation to fix the problems addicts cause for themselves. Those who defend drug users should not be propped up with public money. Drug users and alcoholics should also as a matter of policy be last in line for medical help.
Premier Clark and Mayor Robertson need to demand that public resources be used better. Cut VANDU off and kick them to the curb.
