To the editor: Re: "CEO accuses city councillors of meddling in lockout," July 29. So COPE and Vision 麻豆传媒映画councillors have decided to show their support for locked out Rocky Mountaineer employees.

The recently announced pay-out for some former residents of the Woodlands School is a classic and shameful example of too little too late.

To the editor: Re: "12th & Cambie," July 29. In an interview on CBC Radio recently, Larry Beasley, former director of planning for the City of Vancouver, said that traffic-40,000 vehicles a day-could "easily disperse" if the viaducts were removed.

To the editor: Having a close knowledge of the Downtown Eastside mentality, I believe the absolute worst solution would be to place crossing guards.

To the editor: Re: "Send health columnist on 'openended sabbatical,'" Letters, July 13. I totally disagree with the negative comments about the health columnist Dr. Davidicus Wong. Dr Wong is a wonderful writer.

To the editor: I was glad to see letters in defense of Davidicus Wong's columns, after the rather harsh criticisms.

To the editor: Sandra Thomas is indeed correct that lower speed limits on Hastings won't stop jaywalkers. It may, however, save lives.

To the editor: Re: "Lowering speed limit won't stop jaywalkers," July 27. Even the police and the most casual observer agree that the problem on Hastings is not the cars driving but the local residents randomly and blithely crossing the street.
