To the editor:
Re: "Lowering speed limit won't stop jaywalkers," July 27.
Even the police and the most casual observer agree that the problem on Hastings is not the cars driving but the local residents randomly and blithely crossing the street. They do this with complete disregard for themselves and others due not only to their "issues" but also to the sense of entitlement that the city administration and poverty industry activists have bestowed upon them.
Now by lowering the speed to the same as school zones and playgrounds, they are saying that those patronizing and running the drug and sex markets are the moral equivalents of my four-year-old child. I find this disgusting and only one more reason that sober-minded Vancouverites need to think about a change in city hall.
