Shoppers at two Real Canadian Superstores in Surrey are being warned of potential exposure to the sickening novel coronavirus this month.

Loblaws Companies Ltd. confirmed Monday that an employee who worked at a Surrey Real Canadian Superstore as late as Thursday tested positive for COVID-19.

The Superstore location at 2332 160 St. was the workplace of the staffer who tested positive on a presumptive test Aug. 31.

The last day the team member worked was Aug. 27.

Loblaws regularly updates its COVID-19 page with all positive COVID-19 cases in its stores, within the last 15 days.

On Saturday, the company confirmed an employee of another Surrey Superstore location, this time at 7550 King George Hwy., tested positive for COVID-19.

COVID-19 is spread by respiratory droplets when a person who is sick coughs or sneezes.

Symptoms of the disease include fatigue, loss of appetite, fever, cough, sore throat, runny nose, loss of smell and/or diarrhea.

If you visited either of the affected locations and believe you may have been infected, it is recommended you self-isolate and monitor for symptoms.

If you have symptoms, testing is available – and has been expanded recently in both the Â鶹´«Ã½Ó³»Coastal Health and Fraser Health regions.
