Loblaw Companies Limited says that an employee working at a Real Canadian Superstore in Delta has tested positive for COVID-19.
On Aug. 26, Loblaw confirmed that a team member who works at a Real Canadian Superstore located at 8196 120th Street tested positive on a presumptive test for COVID-19. The last day the team member worked was Aug. 16.
Loblaw regularly updates its COVID-19 page with all positive COVID-19 cases in its stores, by province, in the last 15 days. However, it will not release any personal information about employees.
On Aug. 24, Loblaw said that employees working at a Wholesale Club in Burnaby and a Shoppers Drug Mart in Abbotsford tested positive for COVID-19.
Last week, two Â鶹´«Ã½Ó³»Shoppers Drug Mart locations issued notices that a team member at each store tested positive for COVID-19.
COVID-19 is spread by respiratory droplets when a person who is sick coughs or sneezes. It can also be spread when a healthy person touches an object or surface (e.g. a doorknob or a table) with the virus on it, and then touches their mouth, nose or eyes before washing their hands. Most people who get COVID-19 have only mild disease, but a few people can get very sick and may need to go to hospital. The symptoms of COVID-19 may include fatigue, loss of appetite, fever, cough, sore throat, runny nose, loss of smell and/or diarrhea.
If you visited either of the affected locations and believe you may have been infected, it is recommended you self-isolate and monitor for symptoms. If you have symptoms, testing is available - and has been expanded recently in both the Â鶹´«Ã½Ó³»Coastal Health and Fraser Health regions.
