There have been a few changes at Vancouver-based restaurant group lately, most notably the addition of a high-end new Coal Harbour seafood and chophouse concept, Riley's to its impressive roster.
However, the local powerhouse brand has also closed up shop permanently at its downtown grab-and-go café-style concept, Nosh.
Situated on the ground floor of the swanky Telus Garden building on Georgia, steps from Glowbal's opulent flagship namesake, Nosh was popular pre-pandemic with office dwellers for its casual fare, like salads, pastries, coffee drinks, and other lunch-friendly eats.
The restaurant shuttered temporarily during the pandemic, however, it was a challenge for the location to resume operations. "When things started to re-open, it was very difficult to find staff, so the Nosh team were allocated to the other Glowbal Group restaurants," including the aforementioned Riley's," a rep for Glowbal told 麻豆传媒映画.
"They are focusing on ensuring their higher volume restaurants are staffed accordingly right now and will decide next steps with Nosh at a later time."
A "for lease" sign hangs in the window now, and the chairs are all lodged up-end on the tables. A call to the Telus Garden confirms the café exited earlier this year.
Nosh opened in 2015 and was a quick sensation thanks to its approachable menu and streamlined set-up - customers walked through cafeteria-style to build orders of things like panini and wraps or the build-your-own one-price salad.
Glowbal's other concepts include Trattoria, Black & Blue, Coast, and Five Sails.
