This weekend marks the last time you can head to Langley's to enjoy their plant-based eats and drinks, as owners recently announced the three-year-old venture is coming to an end.
Launched in early 2020 by business partners Chaylene Liddell and Shaughnessy Otsuji, Pinkavo brought a splash of "downtown" vibes to the suburbs in the form of a charming, modern light- and plant-filled space at 20534 Fraser Hwy.
Liddell and Otsuji had been prepping to launch their cafe business since 2018, when the duo was of the $130,000 Downtown Langley Business Association’s Start It Up Langley contest for Pinkavo.
Pinkavo aimed to offer Langley a place for vegans, vegetarians, and flexitarians to gather and enjoy fresh food and beverages. The menu includes baked goods, coffee, salads, bowls, sandwiches, toasts, and wraps.
"After much deliberation, we have sadly decided to close the doors at Pinkavo Cafe," reads the . "Since receiving the keys to this space back in 2018, every moment of growth has been exciting and a great opportunity to learn. We have created some amazing memories in this space and we couldn’t have done it without all of you!"
The business operators offer heartfelt appreciation to their "incredible customers, supporters, team members, and friends."
While Pinkavo's era is ending, a plan for what's next at the address seems to be already in the works, as owners hint at more news to come. "Our dream space was brought to life and will continue to live on with some incredible new tenants who you may recognize. 👀 We can’t wait to introduce them to you!"
Your last day to have a drink, bite, and shop the "avo nice day" merch at Pinkavo is Sunday, July 23.
