has been on a mission to get bigger and bigger across the region, and the upcoming launch of the Vancouver-based restaurant chain's newest location will bring the business closer to its goal.
With a whopping nearly 500 seats and year-round heated and covered patios, Tap & Barrel's ambitious new digs in South Surrey will welcome diners for the first time on Tuesday, September 27.
The new outpost of Tap & Barrel is located in The Professional Centre, a brand new building located on 152nd Street at Croydon Drive near the South Surrey communities of Rosemary Heights and Morgan Creek.
The sprawling venue - 13,500 square feet - will also have what the company hails as "a lively bar and lounge area" and "intimate dining room" and will serve as the development's only full-service restaurant.
Full menu details have not been revealed for Tap & Barrel South Surrey, however, when the project was announced in 2021 the menu was expected to include seasonal dishes, elevated comfort classics, weekend brunch, kids' items, and plenty of beer and wine - on tap and from barrels, of course. Additionally, it will likely also offer take-out and delivery, including from the menu of its "ghost kitchen" brand Fixins Mac n’ Chicken.
The first Tap & Barrel opened in 2012 in Vancouver's Olympic Village. The chain also has locations in Coal Harbour, North Vancouver's Shipyards, and is the new identity of the iconic Bridges at Granville Island, which debuted in May. Tap & Barrel is also working to open another massive location by late 2023 at The Amazing Brentwood in Burnaby. The company's sibling spot, Brewhall, is also located in Olympic Village.
