What began as a modest operation out of B.C.'s favourite surf town remains a growing powerhouse in the province when it comes to casual Mexican fare, as Tofino-born has revealed plans for two more Metro Â鶹´«Ã½Ó³»locations, along with one on Â鶹´«Ã½Ó³»Island.
Tacofino will be adding outposts in Burnaby at Station Square and in White Rock at Bosa's Miramar development, where it will be a neighbour to Vietnamese spot Banh Mi Tres Bon, which opened this summer.
These two new locations will join one planned for Langford on the Island are aiming for an early 2024 launch - so it's going to be a big year for the Tacofino team.
Décor and design fo White Rock and Burnaby are being completed by Shiloh Sukkau, with Made By Pacific to manage construction on both projects, notes a media release issued Sept. 5.
Fans of Tacofino's eats can expect "more of what has made Tacofino beloved since it cooked up its first fish taco in Tofino in 2009," in White Rock and Burnaby, though, as expected, those locations' menus are in the development stages.
Additionally, Tacofino has announced the opening details for its Squamish restaurant, signalling the debut of its beloved line-up of tacos, burritos, and fun features in the coming days.
Tacofino Squamish will open its doors to serve the Sea-to-Sea corridor the week of September 11, and diners can expect "vegan and vegetarian options, while also offering new inspired creations like a Tempeh Burrito and the Chiloria Quesadilla and Burrito" alongside margaritas, local and imported beers, and a kids' menu.
“We are very excited to finally share the opening date for Tacofino Squamish and news of our long-awaited expansion into the thriving communities of White Rock, Burnaby, and Langford,” said Gino Di Domenico, Tacofino Managing Partner. “These vibrant areas have been on our radar for quite some time, and we couldn't be more excited to finally be a part of their communities."
Tacofino operates six restaurants in Vancouver: Gastown, East Vancouver, Yaletown, Mount Pleasant, Kitsilano, and Downtown. They also have a Victoria location, a seasonal pop-up on a Victoria golf course, and their original Tofino truck.
