After a decade, one of Vancouver's favourite spots for croissants and coffee has revealed plans for a second location in the city.
launched on Fir Street in 2012 by Jackie Kai Ellis and was purchased by siblings Betty and Jacky Hung in 2017, both longtime employees of the shop.
The Hungs announced Tuesday (Aug. 16) plans to open up a 1,300-square-foot Beaucoup bakeshop cafe inside the at Seymour and Dunsmuir in downtown Vancouver.
“We’ve been searching for the right location for a while now, and cannot wait to bring Beaucoup Bakery to the heart of downtown Vancouver,” said Betty, who is the co-owner and pastry chef at Beaucoup Bakery, in a media release.
The second Beaucoup outpost will feature counter service and Beaucoup classics (like that unreal peanut butter sandwich cookie) and some new sweet and savoury creations. Given Beaucoup's bent for exciting collborations with other Â鶹´«Ã½Ó³»restuarnts and food businesses, there will be plenty to keep an eye out for.
Seating at Beaucoup number two will be split between a few indoor tables and an exterior patio.
Beaucoup is currently working with the award-winning design firm Ste. Marie Studio, who is giving the space a European feel via the use of soft colours, contemporary edges, and classic materials. Glasfurd & Walker is assisting the team with branding.
An opening date has not yet been set.
