Everyone is welcome to a clothing-optional ride through Vancouver's West End this summer.
The World Naked Bike Race originated in Â鶹´«Ã½Ó³»and takes place annually in the summer, providing bold cyclists with an opportunity to shed their clothing with like-minded folks on a relaxing ride through the city.
This year on July 8, cyclists will meet at Sunset Beach at Beach Avenue and Bute Steet for pre-ride body painting at noon. After a couple of hours of mingling and painting, the "bare-as-you-dare" ride commences at 2 p.m.
When the ride wraps up, the Naked Iconoclasts Fighting The Yoke (NIFTY), a naked rights group, will host a celebratory picnic for participants.
Organizers note that everyone is welcome to the cheeky ride and have included the motto: "Naked bicycle people power!"
In previous years, participants were encouraged to get creative with their attire - or lack thereof - and wear flashy costumes, cosplay, or bright body paint.
Shoes are highly recommended, and helmets are mandatory.
