Vancouver's exciting Dragon Boat Festival hosts events on water, land, and sky

Why only host events on land when the sky's the limit?

Every year, on the fifth day of the fifth month of the lunar calendar, Chinese families gather to eat sticky rice balls, watch dragon boat races, and enjoy quality time together.

As part of the annual tradition, the annual Dragon Boat Festival, hosted by Concord Pacific, will take place June 22 and 23 with events on the waters of False Creek, the land of Concord Pacific Plaza, and in the night sky of Vancouver.

The festival does not only include intense dragon boat races, but it also will feature music performances, cultural pavilions, a local marketplace, and food vendors, plus the new Concord Community Zone with family-friendly programming at Concord Pacific Place.

When the sun goes down, the drones go up on June 22. Celebrating the first weekend of summer, the family-friendly drone show will begin as the sun sets over the Â鶹´«Ã½Ó³»skyline, and can be viewed from around the North East False Creek basin and screens throughout the site.
