Vancouver's epic will bring together thousands of people from around the region for eight days of food, entertainment, and fun.
Now in its 37th year, Â鶹´«Ã½Ó³»Greek Summerfest will take place from July 4 to 7 and 11 to 14 and admission is free.
The first Â鶹´«Ã½Ó³»Greek Summerfest was held in 1987 as a small weekend church fundraiser but has since grown to fill the streets around 4541 Boundary Rd, complete with local bands, cultural performances, and lots and lots of food.
When it comes to Greek food, the Summerfest has it all, including favourites like loukoumades (Greek donuts), souvlaki, BBQ lamb, and spanakopita. There will be vegan options as well as the ability to order food online.
The festival draws in people from outside the Greek community, however, it serves an important function as a bridge for the Lower Mainland's Greek diaspora and a place for young Greek-Canadians to learn about the motherland.
The full Greek Summerfest schedule is available on the , which includes specifics about event hours, performances, and the food menu.
