A free musical performance under the setting sun will take place in Â鶹´«Ã½Ó³»this month.
The Symphony at Sunset open-air concert will pop up in the city's West End at Sunset Beach Park on July 8, immersing locals into a series of orchestral renditions of beloved movie scores from Star Wars, Jurrasic Park, and others, and selections such as the William Tell Overture and Max Richter's Four Seasons Recomposed.
The symphony is organized by the Â鶹´«Ã½Ó³»Board of Parks and Recreation and the Â鶹´«Ã½Ó³»Symphony Orchestra (VSO) which is also hosting a one-day festival filled with over 100 free concerts around the city.
Last year, Symphony at Sunset saw over 15,000 attendees.
The prelude performance by the VSO School of Music's Sinfonietta ensemble begins at 6:30 p.m. starting with an orchestral version of the Coast Salish Anthem.
Space surrounding the stage is available on a first-come-first-serve basis and will be open all day for attendees to set up early.
There will be food and drinks available too via the Sunset Beach concession stand and food trucks.
