A few weeks ago, I went and checked out the heavily used
Located near the intersection of Victoria/16th Ave E (3350 Victoria Drive), Trout Lake Community Center is a vital part of a vibrant neighborhood.
Looking more like a pavilion from a 60's Expo, Trout Lake Community Center offers pretty much all anyone needs, and is a neighborhood hub. The place was packed when I was there. In the basement, there is a well stocked fitness center that has everything that's needed, weights, treads, stationaries etc... as well as a whirlpool and sauna. There's also a pottery studio, games room, snack bar, and in the near future, the ice arena will re-open after a much needed renovation.
In the spring and summer, there is a farmer's market in the parking lot, offering organic veggies and fruit, as well as other local treats.
The park and lake around the community center is beautiful. People out walking dogs, taking in the sun... it's a great place to spend a spring day outside.
