A free street festivity will take place in Metro Â鶹´«Ã½Ó³»this summer, entirely sans cars.
The second annual Car Free Day in Surrey will close off a stretch of 137th Street, between 72A and 74 Avenue, on June 10 for a fun family-friendly celebration.
Activities will start at noon and continue until 8 p.m., featuring a number of musical performances, a dance battle, a kid-friendly fun zone, and a variety of food trucks.
Throughout the festivity a number of artists will take to the stage, including Canadian-British singer Luv Randhawa, eight-piece funk, reggae, and hip hop band MNGWA, Glisha, and Haleluya Hailu.
There will also be a DJ and Dance Zone for those who want to bop, and a Higher Ground Dance Battle for those wanting to show of their moves.
Kids can have fun at the Family Fun Zone where there will be face painting, balloon twisting, mini golf, and a bouncy castle. Comedian Matt Henry will also put on a juggling act.
The event encourages locals to walk, cycle, or take transit.
