A local film fan has shared several of his videos and photos of actor Jared Leto in his Tron: Ares costume taken last year when the star was in 鶹ýӳfilming the epic feature film coming to theatres soon.
The first trailer for Tron: Ares came out this week, showcasing many easily recognizable spots across Vancouver, including the Cambie Bridge.
Leto plays the lead, Ares, in the film. His co-stars include Greta Lee, Evan Peters, Hasan Minhaj, Jodie Turner-Smith, Arturo Castro, Cameron Monaghan, and Gillian Anderson.
The film production last spring included several complete closures of the Cambie Bridge to accommodate chase scenes and stunts.
The film is the third instalment in the Tron universe. was released in 1982 and is considered groundbreaking for its use of special effects. The sequel, , took nearly 30 years to reach the silver screen. It was also shot in 鶹ýӳand used the Cambie Bridge for at least one scene involving a motorcycle.
A local who goes by @NewWestBoy on social media captures images and videos from film sets. He shared several Tron ones to X/Twitter, last year, including some of the stunt performers and the big-name actors.

He also shared a pair of images of local TV personality Shanel Pratap "working a side gig" on the set. He was getting his makeup done and chatting with the cast.

The New Westminster resident also photographed Leto from the back in the iconic Tron suit.
