Â鶹´«Ã½Ó³»­weather: Significant showers expected, cooler temperatures

It doesn't feel like summer anymore.

The Â鶹´«Ã½Ó³»­weather forecast includes thunderstorms and substantial rain in the third week of August. 

V.I.A.'s Downtown Centre Weatherhood station shows a high of 18 C and a low of 16 C with an 86 per cent chance of showers throughout the day on Wednesday, Aug. 21. Up to 7 mm of precipitation is expected, with thunderstorms possible at various points during the afternoon and evening (see slide two).

Thursday's forecast includes a 14 per cent chance of showers in the early morning but the sun may peek out through the day. A high of 20 C and a low of 15 C is expected.

Friday's forecast includes increasing cloudiness with an 83 per cent chance of showers later in the day. A high of 19 C and a low of 15 C is expected. 

Â鶹´«Ã½Ó³»­weather forecast includes a wet weekend 

Locals may want to adjust their outdoor weekend plans, provided the seven-day forecast doesn't change.

Saturday is expected to receive as much as 27 mm of precipitation, making it the wettest day of the week. However, Sunday may offer a respite from the rainy weather, with only a 33 per cent chance of showers and a mix of sun and cloud expected. 

Showery weather is expected again next week, although no torrential rain is expected. Monday's forecast includes a 41 per cent chance of very light showers, while Tuesday's has a 46 per cent chance of them. 

Daytime temperatures are trending a few degrees below seasonal averages this week, with many days reaching highs between 16 C and 19 C. Environment Canada's historical climate data shows the average daytime high for Metro Â鶹´«Ã½Ó³»­is 21.7 C.
