Vancouver's weather will be fairly average for the next week, though not too wet.
After extreme cold, snow storms and record-breaking warmth in January, Vancouver's extreme weather streak appears to be over in February, according to Weatherhood's forecast, with temperatures right around the normal for this time of year and no major storms on the horizon.
"It's looking pretty dry for the next couple of days; Tuesday will be mostly sunny," says Environment Canada meteorologist Johnson Zhong.
"Wednesday there's a weak system approaching the Â鶹´«Ã½Ó³»area with precipitation starting probably Tuesday night. That weak system will produce some periods of rain Tuesday night into Wednesday morning."
Currently confidence levels on when exactly that precipitation will arrive and how much will fall is low, he adds, but it should be coming some time in the middle of the week, followed by a return to drier weather with a mix of sun and cloud.
"One week from now it looks like it's going to be a longer period of dry weather again," he says of next weekend.
Normally February is a transition month between the cool, wet winter weather of the previous three months and a drier spring, but storms can still arrive and throw in bursts of precipitation or cold streaks. However, nothing like that is in the forecast right now.
"We don't expect any strong systems coming up for the next little while," says Zhong. "Some dry days and weak systems, but pretty enjoyable in terms of winter in Vancouver."
