While Monday, Aug. 28, will start off sunny in Vancouver, cloud cover will move in and there's a "risk of a thunderstorm late in the afternoon" according to Environment Canada.

With the sunny, smoky skies this weekend wet weather may not seem so close, but forecasts show showers are coming, along with a chance for thundershowers.

While Monday, Aug. 28, will start off sunny, cloud cover will move in and there's a "risk of a thunderstorm late in the afternoon" according to Environment Canada.

However, despite the clouds and wet weather, it's still expected to be a warm day with highs of 23 C near the water and 27 C inland. It could feel much hotter, too, with a humidex pushing it to 27 C on the shore and 32 C inland.

On top of that, the haze from the wildfire smoke may remain for part of the day.

At the same time, Weatherhood isn't currently forecasting any thunderstorms for Monday, but on Thursday, Aug. 31, it's predicting there's a risk.

While the risk of thunderstorms will pass on Monday, overnight periods of rain are expected starting that night and lasting until Wednesday, Aug. 30.
