Sunny start to Labour Day long weekend in Â鶹´«Ã½Ó³»­before rain next week

Â鶹´«Ã½Ó³»­locals can enjoy a sunny start to the Labour Day long weekend. 

Labour Day in Â鶹´«Ã½Ó³»­looks a lot different now than what it looked like 100 years ago, and many Vancouverites are now opting for a getaway across the border or to Â鶹´«Ã½Ó³»­Island.

Folks choosing to have a staycation can expect to bask in sunny, summer-like weather for most of the long weekend. 

According to V.I.A.'s hyper-local weather network Weatherhood, warm sunshine is forecasted to beam over the Metro Â鶹´«Ã½Ó³»­region starting Friday (Sept. 1).

The weekend will kick off with a high of 25 C on Friday followed by a high of 26 C on Saturday, and a slim chance of rain. The second half of the long weekend is forecasted to cool down to 20 C on Sunday and 16 C on Monday, with chances of rain increasing to up to 27 per cent. 

Rain isn't expected to drizzle over Â鶹´«Ã½Ó³»­until Wednesday. The remainder of next week -- Tuesday and Thursday -- are forecasted to be a warm 18 and 20 C with a small chance of rain.
