The 鶹ýӳFilm Commission and Film London announced plans September 10 to sign a memorandum of understanding (MOU) to recognize “and enhance the creative and business links between the two cities.”

The MOU, which is to be inked at the Toronto International Film Festival on September 11, aims to facilitate collaboration between the regions and assist with cross-promoting companies at international events and markets.

“This agreement leverages the strong business relationship between Canada and the U.K. — especially the frequent interplay between London’s and Vancouver’s creative industries,” David Shepheard, director of the 鶹ýӳFilm Commission, said in a statement.

Adrian Wootton, the chief executive of Film London, said large productions often work in different regions and he believes that the two organizations can help companies with a presence in both cities.

The respective commissions say they’ll also pool knowledge on issues such as gender equality and environmental sustainability.
