In 1999 a small skateboard company out of Â鶹´«Ã½Ó³»embarked on a tour through 8 small towns in BC, none of which had public skateparks at the time. They ended up towing 5 tons of ramps behind a sketchy old van with no brakes, bringing an already-smalltown feel of skateboarding even deeper into the rural routes of our province. Now 13 years later, each of those 8 towns has its own public skatepark, and the film Hicks On Sticks is a look back at this strange window in the history of underground skateboarding in Â鶹´«Ã½Ó³»and beyond.
