A new low-cost airline is launching a direct 鶹ýӳto Toronto route. Here's what to know

Canada Jetlines will provide a new service out of 鶹ýӳin 2022.

Vancouverites will have another new low-cost option for direct flights to Toronto this holiday season. 

Canada Jetlines, a new Canadian leisure airline, commenced operations out of its travel hub at Toronto Pearson International Airport (YYZ) on Sept. 22, with its first scheduled route into Calgary International Airport (YYC).

Starting in December, the Canadian carrier will offer a new direct Airbus A320 service between 鶹ýӳInternational Airport (YVR) and Toronto Pearson International Airport (YYZ). The new route will offer twice-weekly service on Mondays and Saturdays. 

“Following the launch of a successful first route out of Toronto, we look forward to expanding our services into 鶹ýӳahead of the upcoming holiday travel season,” shared Duncan Bureau, Chief Commercial Officer of Canada Jetlines.

“We seek to provide Canadian travellers with more convenient travel options and look forward to bringing the country’s newest leisure airline to YVR. 

鶹ýӳflights to Toronto via Canada Jetlines

One-way, red-eye flights from 鶹ýӳdepart from at 1:30 a.m. (PST) and start at $120 CAD including taxes and fees. Return flights from Toronto depart at 9:30 p.m. EST.

The new carrier has chosen Moment, a technology company that has developed a wide range of infotainment solutions in the transportation industry, to equip its growing fleet of Airbus 320 aircraft.

The "Flymingo Box" system will offer a flexible, aircraft-powered digital suite with wireless inflight entertainment options including real-time travel information. 

Canada Jetlines states that passengers will be able to easily connect to a local cloud via their browser and access entertainment services directly on their mobile devices.

"Designed as a compact, battery-operated or aircraft-powered server, the system has the capacity to provide video streaming to 100 passengers simultaneously," they explain.
