Residents of the Lower Mainland looking to fly back east on a budget have a new affordable option.
Flair Airlines has announced a new route out of the Abbotsford International Airport (YXX) that flies directly to the Region of Waterloo International Airport (YKF) with prices starting at $39 CAD including all taxes and fees.
The new Abbotsford flights commence on May 9, 2023, with thrice-weekly service.
Currently, locals looking to head to Ontario have several low-cost options through the airline, with tickets starting at $49 CAD. With this in mind, the new route will provide more tickets around peak travel times, which means that there will be more economical options available.

The low-cost carrier will offer direct flights from Kelowna International Airport (YLW) to Toronto's Lester B. Pearson International Airport (YYZ) starting at $75 CAD including all taxes and fees for one-way tickets. Flights commence on June 9, with twice-weekly service.
For travellers in Ontario, the airline has also launched an ultra-low fare between Ottawa International Airport (YOW) and Thunder Bay International Airport (YQT) with prices starting at $19 CAD including tax for a one-way fare. Flights commence June 10, with twice-weekly service.
The new routes are an addition to Flair's recently announced 2023 summer schedule, which includes increased frequencies and plans to increase capacity by 50 per cent next summer.
“We’re thrilled to connect travellers to the people and places they love, as we expand our presence in key Ontario markets,” said Garth Lund, Chief Commercial Officer, Flair Airlines.
“Our Summer 2023 schedule continues to heat up as we grow our capacity into next summer at affordable prices.”
In summer 2023, one new Boeing 737 Max aircraft will also be based at the Abbotsford airport.
