Ultra-affordable direct flights from Â鶹´«Ã½Ó³»to Tokyo with Zipair will continue through the winter.
The enormously popular new offering from Japan Airlines's self-described "basic" carrier has expanded its service through the winter, providing locals with low-cost options into the new year.
Zipair launched from Â鶹´«Ã½Ó³»International Airport (YVR) on March 13, providing the cheapest non-stop flight between the region and Tokyo Narita International Airport (NRT).
Before the airline launched, tickets were nearly sold out on many dates in March and April, and the lower-fare classes were no longer available on popular dates through the summer.
Zipair added more flights following the surge in ticket sales, ramping up service to five flights weekly with additional flights on Tuesdays and Fridays.

Tickets were only available until October but the airline has added flights through the winter into the new year.
The carrier announced the operating schedule to Â鶹´«Ã½Ó³»during the 2024 winter season, ending March 29, 2025 (see slides two and three).
Reservations and ticket sales are available through the start of spring 2025.
Return trips in 2024 start for as little as $763 in October and November but prices cost even less in the new year.
Several dates in January through March cost under $700 for a round-trip Â鶹´«Ã½Ó³»to Tokyo ticket. For instance, a flight departing YVR on Jan. 9, 2025, and returning from NRT on Jan. 15, 2025, costs $673 directly through Zipair (tickets must be booked separately through the airline) (see slide four).
One-way tickets are also a steal, with several dates costing under $400. For instance, a flight from Â鶹´«Ã½Ó³»to Tokyo on Jan. 9, 2024, costs $361. This price is considered low for the economy, with tickets typically costing between $610 and $1,050 (see slide five).
