Hot deal alert: Here are the 5 cheapest flights from Â鶹´«Ã½Ó³»across Canada

Save money on top destinations in the Great White North.

Round-trip tickets from Â鶹´«Ã½Ó³»International Airport (YVR) to select Canadian cities offer significant savings for travellers this spring.

While some domestic routes include hefty price tags, others provide an expedient way to get across the province or the country without spending an exorbitant amount. In some cases, it is cheaper to fly than pay for gas or book ferries and other forms of transportation.

Have a look at five of the cheapest deals from YVR in April and May.

Cranbrook

Travellers planning on visiting the Canadian Rockies who don't have a vehicle aren't out of luck. Tickets to Cranbrook are extremely low this April, and both flights are direct. The Canadian Rockies International Airport (YXC) is roughly five miles from the city.

A flight that departs YVR on Sunday, April 20, and returns from YXC on Tuesday, April 29, costs $81 booked through third-party supplier Oojo, although several others are available. The ticket costs $131 directly through WestJet in the basic fare class. This means travellers won't get to take a carry-on bag (only a personal item) and cannot select a seat for free in the 24-hour complimentary check-in window (see slides two and three).

This price is considered "low" for economy or about $189 cheaper than usual, according to Google Flights.

Kelowna

One of B.C.'s best-loved vacation destinations is attainable with a low-cost return ticket from YVR.

Kelowna is home to numerous vineyards, outdoor activities, dining, and shopping experiences, as well as a vibrant arts scene. Visitors can also check out the charming Kangaroo Creek Farm to play with wallabies, kangaroos, capybaras, and other interesting animals (and some traditional petting zoo favourites).

A trip departing YVR on Monday, April 7, and returning from Kelowna International Airport (YLW) on Tuesday, April 15, costs $97, with the tickets booked separately with Flair Airlines (the outbound flight) and Kiwi.com (the return flight with Air North) (see slides four and five).

This price is considered "low" for economy or about $52 cheaper than usual, according to Google Flights.

Calgary

Trips to Cowtown offer immense value for locals who want to travel outside the province without breaking the bank.

A flight from YVR departing on Monday, April 14, and returning from Calgary International Airport (YYC) on Wednesday, April 23, costs $114 when booked through third-party supplier booking.com. Both flights are direct with Flair Airlines (see slide six).

Victoria

Flights from YVR to B.C.'s capital city don't have to break the bank. They also allow travellers to avoid waiting in long ferry lines (or potentially missing sailings in poor weather).

A flight departing YVR on Monday, April 28, and returning from Victoria International Airport (YYJ) on Sunday, May 4, costs $102 with tickets booked separately together through third-party supplier Kiwi.com (the outbound journey is with Air North, and the return is with WestJet) (see slide seven).

This price is considered "low" for economy or about $52 cheaper than usual, according to Google Flights.

Toronto

Round-trip options from YVR to the Six offer an incredible value for locals planning to travel across the country.

While a few options on Â鶹´«Ã½Ó³»Island cost around the same as tickets to Victoria or Kelowna, many other popular B.C. destinations cost over $300 this spring, including top cities such as Penticton.

On the other hand, a return trip to Toronto (several provinces across the country) costs less than multiple B.C. cities.

A flight departing Â鶹´«Ã½Ó³»on Monday, April 28 and returning from Toronto Pearson International Airport (YYZ) on Sunday, May 4, costs $256 through a third party (several options are available within this price range). Both flights are direct with Flair Airlines (see slide eight).
