Deal alert: You can fly from Â鶹´«Ã½Ó³»to Hawaii and Australia for half price

A flight from Â鶹´«Ã½Ó³»to Honolulu can cut costs on a trip to Australia.

Flights from Â鶹´«Ã½Ó³»to Australia can cost under half the regular price with a stopover in Hawaii.

Adding a stopover makes some itineraries more expensive while others include them for free. However, booking a flight from Â鶹´«Ã½Ó³»to Hawaii and then a second one to Australia can take a significant chunk of change off the price tag — try several hundred dollars off the cost of a return ticket.

According to Google Flights, the least expensive round-trip flights from Â鶹´«Ã½Ó³»International Airport (YVR) to Sydney International Airport (SYD) usually cost between $1,550 and $2,700.

While a ticket under $1,500 might be a great deal for travellers headed to the other side of the globe, buying two tickets — one heading to Daniel K. Inouye International Airport (HNL) — allows them to save significantly more.
