UPDATE JUNE 13, 2021:
Realtor Denise Brynelsen emailed us to let us know that the property is no longer on the market, as it sold this week for "full price."
We are hoping to speak with the buyer and share their plans for the island with you.

ORIGINAL STORY PUBLISHED MAY 18, 2021:
As the local real estate market continues to heat up and people start to look further afield for property to invest in, one Lower Mainland real estate company has become a go-to for people looking to make a great (rural) escape.
From tiny parcels of land for $40,000 to semi-remote 10,000 acre cattle ranches priced at a few million, bills itself as "'The Source' for Oceanfront, Lakefront, Islands, Ranches, Resorts & Land in British Columbia."
Their website is where you might want to spend a portion of your daydream budget today.
Currently catching my eye is a two-and-a-half acre private island a few minutes from Saltery Bay on the Sunshine Coast, just 30 minutes from the town of Powell River.
at $1,089,000, it has what LandQuest is calling a small "starter cabin" and a dock, and more than enough room for a nicer, more permanent structure.
It has "panoramic seascapes" looking out onto Texada and other islands, as well as lots of trees, including one "beautiful gnarled mature Arbutus tree... found outcropping on the ledge of the south eastern tip bordering this site."
At just over a million bucks it's sort of the equivalent of a Â鶹´«Ã½Ó³»teardown, only... well... different.
