Ladies and gentlemen of Metro Vancouver, we are in desperate times, it seems. One Craigslist user has come up with : Share his two-bedroom home in Burnaby Heights for just $50 rent. The catch is, he's got a few things you're going to need to do to help out. Ahem.
The ad seems to be hedging just a bit in the headline: "Shared accommodations? I've always wanted to be a S daddy?"
S is definitely for sugar, because you'll be doling it out in the form of dates (you'll be his "company to all [his] work outings,") and "the occasional massage after a long day." Plus a few domestic duties, i.e. "a clean apartment," and "a meal made when I get home some nights."
Some may see this as an ingenious solution to Vancouver's housing crisis (and challenging dating scene). Others may see it as a form of solicitation/prostitution and a potentially dangerous situation for a woman.
Any takers? The ad has been up a few days, actually--so far not flagged for removal.
Here's the text of the ad in full:
"Very friendly professional 25 year old guy looking to meet a fun easy going tidy girl to play house with I've always wanted to be a daddy and now I finally can be, I would like company to all my work outings. I work everyday(Sundays off) and take care of all the expenses for this beautiful two bedroom in Burnaby . All I ask in return is a clean Apartment, A meal made when I get home some nights and obviously to accompany to my events and functions, and the occasional massage after a long day, I'm not very selfish so I give as well in this situation and I'm not demanding or pushy. If you're stuck and you need a place to live and you have possibly thought about an arrangement like this. I'm 420 friendly and this could be a great gig as I it's a shame to leave this place sitting empty more often than not.. such a great neighbourhood, if you have wanted to live in the heights, this is your chance."
