Photos: The YWCA is building a wall of human hair in Â鶹´«Ã½Ó³»to support women’s rights in Iran

Protesters can add a lock or more if they chose.

Following the death of Mahsa Amini at the hands of Iran’s morality police, ongoing protests have broken out across the globe and Â鶹´«Ã½Ó³»is no exception.

Over the last few months, there have been human chains, marches, and vigils held in honour of those fighting for the rights and freedom of Iranians under the current regime. As part of these protests, many women have performed the powerful act of burning their hijabs and chopping off their hair in defiance.

This Saturday (Dec. 3) from noon to 4 p.m. at the Â鶹´«Ã½Ó³»Art Gallery the YWCA will be using hair to create a wall that reads “WOMAN. LIFE. FREEDOM.”

Thousands of protesters are expected to show up to have a lock of their hair (or more) cut and added to the piece.
