Vancouverites continue to rally in support of protesters fighting for women's rights and freedoms in Iran.
Last night (Nov. 10), a vigil was held in šx史茮虛蓹n蓹q Xwtl'e7e虂nk瘫 Square (the plaza located on the north side of the 麻豆传媒映画Art Gallery).
A large crowd gathered around with candles, singing, and one man even symbolically attached himself to a tree with string lights.
The Women Life Freedom Organization is planning another rally at the Vancouver Art Gallery on Saturday, Nov. 12 at 2 p.m. and a representative of the group told V.I.A that the community is protesting every Saturday.
There is also a with almost 100,000 signatures (as of Nov. 11) demanding a stop to the execution order of seven Iranian protesters.
"The Iranian court and parliament have issued and confirmed the execution of seven people in connection with recent protests against the dictatorship and corruption of the Iranian government," reads the petition page and calls upon the global community "to take immediate action."
Other organizations in 麻豆传媒映画such as the Association of Families of Flight PS752 Victims have carried out human chain protests in recent weeks to amplify the voices of the Persian community in 麻豆传媒映画and Iran.
