Drake may have fibbed to fans at his first Â鶹´«Ã½Ó³»concert -- but the party-goers who attended his second one certainly weren't unhappy about it.
American rapper Travis Scott made a surprise guest appearance at Champagne Papi's first show in Â鶹´«Ã½Ó³»on Tuesday, Aug. 29. The pair performed their latest collaborative track, "Meltdown, for the first time in front of a live audience before rapping their iconic song "Sicko Mode." The crowd sang along to all the words of the popular tracks.
Drizzy Drake told the elated crowd that Scott's performance in Â鶹´«Ã½Ó³»would be the only time the two rappers joined forces on stage during his It's All a Blur tour -- but that was likely a lie.
The "Goosebumps" rapper's appearance at Wednesday's Â鶹´«Ã½Ó³»Drake concert -- which was the rescheduled date for Monday's cancelled show -- was a total surprise to anyone who had heard about what the Canadian star said at his previous concert.
Travis Scott Â鶹´«Ã½Ó³»concert tickets go on sale
Scott may have played the shows to sell tickets for his upcoming, newly announced "Circus Maximus" tour, which will make a stop in Â鶹´«Ã½Ó³»and support his fourth and latest album Utopia. Tickets went on sale Thursday (Aug. 31) at 10 a.m. with Ticketmaster.
On Instagram, Scott shared a post with pictures from his visit to Vancouver, including several shots from the shows and a couple of photos of him posing. In the caption, he says that "it was a blur but I could never [forget]."
The rapper also referred to Â鶹´«Ã½Ó³»as "Van Couv," which is one of the nicknames that locals have playfully given to the city over the years. However, they usually spell it "Couve."
V.I.A. recently asked readers if it is okay to call the city "the Couve" and a whopping 72 per cent of them said "no." That said, people have enjoyed and may enjoy it even more now that Scott has toyed with a version of it.
