The Â鶹´«Ã½Ó³»Park Board is notifying locals that it has temporarily closed Stanley Park and the seawall due to powerful winds.
Around 1:45 p.m. on Monday (Nov. 15), the Park Board stated in a tweet that it was closing the park and seawall to ensure safety during the windstorm.
"Park Rangers are on site to direct vehicles to the exits, and will be closing the gates," reads the tweet.
Environment Canada has issued a wind warning calling for powerful winds gusting up to 70 to 90 km/hr, with the strongest gusts expected near the water. For areas away from the water, gusty winds are still possible but are not expected to be as strong.
"Although the rain has eased, high tides and strong winds can cause dangerous conditions near the water," adds the Park Board.
High winds may also toss loose objects or cause tree branches to break.
