BC Hydro is reporting multiple power outages across the Lower Mainland and Â鶹´«Ã½Ó³»Island due to powerful winds today (Nov. 15).
On Sunday, the power authority stated that crews were working to restore power for outages caused by heavy rain, flooding and landslides. While Environment Canada has ended the rainfall warning, a wind warning is in effect for the region with gusts up to 90 km/h expected this evening.
As of its last update at 1:48 p.m. on Monday, BC Hydro states that there are currently 44,477 customers without power in the Lower Mainland and on the Sunshine Coast.
All available crews have been mobilized and will work to restore power to other affected customers in the region as quickly as possible. Individual restoration times will be provided as soon they are available.
Several of the outages have been caused by trees that have fallen on power lines.
