Police are urging women in Mount Pleasant to remain vigilant of their surroundings after women were allegedly followed by men on two different occasions this week.

Though there have been no reports of abductions, Â鶹´«Ã½Ó³»Police Department Cst. Tania Visintin said “suspicious behaviour” has occurred in the area.

A woman was walking her dog Sunday just before 1 p.m. near Main Street and East 1 Avenue when she noticed two men were following her.

"The men would stare at her and then look at their cell phones" when they noticed her looking back, explained Visintin.

The woman called 911 upon arriving home.

The very next day, Sept. 21, near Scotia Street and East Broadway, a woman was walking when she was approached by a man driving an older silver Sedan at around 10:30 p.m.

The man in the vehicle is described as white, in his late 20s to early 30s, with a slim build.

The driver asked her if she’d use her cell phone to make a call for him. The woman declined and called the police as soon as she got home.

“Police did an extensive search for the vehicle but they were not able to locate it,” Visintin told Â鶹´«Ã½Ó³».

The VPD Sex Crimes Unit is also looking into the incidents, said the officer.

"We are urging anyone who has experienced something similar to please call us."
