A Metro Â鶹´«Ã½Ó³»man has won hundreds of thousands more than he thought after he mistook a comma for a decimal.
Cong Pham was excited when he checked his Lotto Max ticket for the June 27 draw and saw a five and a couple of zeroes. He thought it was a $500 winner.
But that was a little under his actual win.
He was happy with that.“I was excited to share with my son. I thought it was only $500 and then called my son to verify it was $500,000!" he says in a BCLC press release. "I thought it was a decimal point.”
Pham, it turns out, had won the maximum prize on the Extra, matching all four numbers.
The Surrey resident is grateful for the win. He says the win has left his mind a bit "blank" and he doesn't have any immediate plans for the money, but a nice family vacation in the future is likely.
The ticket was bought at the PriceSmart Foods on Ackroyd Road in Richmond.
