Light spectacle: This free winter wonderland in Burnaby is hosting a festive evening this Saturday

Join the Bright in Burnaby event Saturday, Dec. 2 from 5 to 9 p.m., with a special tree lighting ceremony at 6 p.m.

This year Heritage Christmas features “light” as a design element in the festivities, “as a way to bring to the fore the various holidays celebrated in winter, such as Chanukah, Diwali, Hobiyee, and others,” said a .

Visitors can experience eco-sculptures, hanging lanterns, light tunnels, snowflakes and beautiful window displays around the 10-acre museum site.

Father Christmas will be there, as well as roving holiday characters.

Kids can participate in a “light” themed scavenger hunt throughout the whole run of the Heritage Christmas event.

Proceeds from the carousel rides during the Bright in Burnaby night will go to the Burnaby Christmas Bureau with developer Concord Pacific matching donations.
