A new Â鶹´«Ã½Ó³»waterfront park is currently in the works and the city is asking residents how it should look.
will revitalize the False Creek waterfront between Science World and Creekside Community Centre, according to the parks board, with 1.2 hectares of parkland. the area includes the seawall, a parking lot, and public land.
The current name is not the official name of the park and a separate park naming process will determine an official name for the project.
The False Creek waterfront has seen other projects over the years, from Vancouver's biggest playground to a massive park (just across from the proposed new park).
The existing infrastructure where the park has been proposed is aging out, and the city sees it as an opportunity to re-envision the area.
Now the Â鶹´«Ã½Ó³»Board of Parks and Recreation is looking to Vancouverites to help shape the park, asking locals to share "comments, stories, and hopes for the area" in a from Nov. 18 to Dec. 8, states a news release.
The park will be built in the Olympic Village neighbourhood and emerging Railyard neighbourhood, serving as a waterfront destination and community amenity.
