A portion of a popular Â鶹´«Ã½Ó³»park is closed due to a sinkhole, according to the Â鶹´«Ã½Ó³»Board of Parks and Recreation.
The park board says a sinkhole caused by "aging infrastructure" has forced a temporary closure of a portion of Strathcona Park that includes the tennis courts.
In a tweet on Monday (July 18), the park board notes that a temporary fix has been completed while it investigates a permanent solution.
Folks looking to play tennis can visit the nearest courts at Andy Livingstone Park.

The nearest tennis courts can be found at Andy Livingstone Park.
A spokesperson for the park board told Â鶹´«Ã½Ó³» that the sinkhole was caused by a storm sewer pipe that collapsed.
"To ensure visitor safety, we have closed the tennis courts and parts of the public path surrounding it. A nearby community garden project is in the process of being moved to an alternative spot within the park, where caretakers will be able to access their plots throughout the repairs," reads the email.
Strathcona Park, located at 857 Malkin Ave., is a dog-friendly park with a playground, climbing wall, a skate park, and a variety of sports courts.
