A man has been arrested and charged in connection with three stranger assaults that occurred in the space of a few minutes and involved flashing a woman.

Just before 8 a.m. on Monday morning (Aug. 29), a woman was walking on West Georgia Street near the Â鶹´«Ã½Ó³»Public Library when she was approached by a stranger who had his penis exposed.

The woman reports having to walk into traffic to get away from him as she called 911. While she was on the phone with Vancouver police, the man accosted a second woman who fled when he grabbed her leg.

He then proceeded to follow a third woman and charged at her until she sought refuge in an office building at 300 West Georgia.

The first woman was able to keep an eye on the suspect and remain on the phone with VPD as she witnessed him harassing the other two women.

When officers arrived on the scene they arrested 50-year-old Andrew Jack Kim who has since been charged with assault with a weapon and committing an indecent act.

“The woman who was grabbed by the leg left the area before the police arrived, and investigators would like to speak with her,” says Constable Jason Doucette in a media release. He adds that “there could also be other people who were assaulted in the area who have not yet come forward," and asks that people "please make a report if you’ve been a victim of crime.”

Kim remains in custody and anyone who may have witnessed the assaults, or has additional information about the suspect's behaviour is asked to call police at 604-717-0600.
