Cory Ashworth and Lizzy Karp at Rain City Chronicles in February.
The first two people we want to talk aboutÌýare the amazing Lizzy Karp and Cory Ashworth.
Lizzy and Cory co-host , a night of personal stories told by locals that centre around a seemingly random theme. The last oneÌýwas Guts.ÌýBrave speakersÌýget up and tell a room full of strangersÌýallÌýabout their darkest, most intimate and most embarrassing moments.
It’s a fun night, but more importantly it’s a glimpse into the remarkable lives of people weÌýshare the city with.
The event switches to a new location for each event with the goal of showing you places that you probably don't know about. Ìý There’s food, there’s drink, and there’s a bit of live music thrown into the mix. ÌýBut at the heart of the event it’s about bringing people together to connect and share.
This idea of sharing stories is the main theme behind , which will feature Cory and Lizzy plusÌýa hundred or so other stories that celebrate the city. There's aÌýcommon element to all the shots - becauseÌýwe live in a rainforest (and to stop people getting too precious about their hair) we soak each person before the shoot. You can't live in Â鶹´«Ã½Ó³»without getting wet.
We’ll be featuring more stories of remarkable residents over the next few weeks. ÌýIf you think this book should hit the shelves before Christmas, we need your help. ÌýWe're currently running a pre-sales campaign to printÌýthe book on Kickstarter, so check outÌýÌýto learn more, spread the word, or maybe even pick up a copy for yourself.
And if you think that you or someone you know should be in the book, drop us an email at [email protected].
