Mohammed Majidpour now faces an arson charge in connection with a September 2022 incident.

A Â鶹´«Ã½Ó³»repeat offender remains in custody, now facing an arson charge on top of robbery and assault charges.

Mohammed Majidpour, 35, is now accused of torching a car. Court documents filed Jan. 30 allege that, on Sept. 27, 2022, he cause damage by fire or explosion to a motor vehicle.

In October, two Â鶹´«Ã½Ó³»police officers saw the man walking near Main and Hastings streets while patrolling in East Vancouver.

They were familiar with Majidpour because they had arrested him a day earlier. He was previously wanted Canada-wide for his alleged attack on a woman.

That attack involved hitting a 19-year-old student over the back of the head with a pole near Hastings and Cambie streets. The attacker uttered a racial slur before fleeing.

The officers followed him into the downtown core where Majidpour allegedly entered a retail store and stole $330 worth of leggings.

He was subsequently arrested after being out of custody for two hours and 18 minutes.

Majidpour was charged with theft under $5,000.

Online court information shows guilty findings for a Mohammed Majidpour for assault with a weapon, theft and probation breaches.

He appeared in court March 8 and returns March 22.
