One of Vancouver's hottest annual festivals is getting food lovers fired up for its 2024 edition.
The always popular event is arriving early this year (relative to past years), coming to Â鶹´«Ã½Ó³»on June 2, with dates later in the year in Calgary and on Â鶹´«Ã½Ó³»Island. Organizers say 2024 will have more food and drink options, but smaller crowds.
Now in its 11th year, this time around Brewery & the Beast Â鶹´«Ã½Ó³»will once again offer its "All You Can Enjoy" format, inviting guests to indulge in a (mostly) carnivorous feast featuring over 60 of Vancouver's top chefs showcasing their culinary prowess over live fire.
From succulent cuts to innovative creations, attendees can expect more tantalizing dishes, alongside a selection of craft beer, cocktails, cider, seltzers, hard teas, wine and zero-proof libations.
Ticketholders can roam the event grounds and enjoy dishes and drinks from every station, with plenty of places to post-up and enjoy the live entertainment (this year from a DJ) and their feasting with friends.
The early June event date means the all-outdoor fest may avoid taking place under the blazing mid-summer sun, though organizers will see to it there is plenty of shade and booze-free hydration on hand.
This year, Brewery & the Beast welcomes nearly a dozen new participating restaurants, including the recently-opened Osteria Elio Volpe, and popular spots like like Chambar Restaurant, per se Social Corner, The Watson, Jungle Room, and Langley’s Steven’s Cocktail Corner Bar + Kitchen. Among the notable returning presenters are Brewery & the Beast veterans Published on Main, Boulevard Kitchen & Oyster Bar, Belgard Kitchen, Café Medina, Homer Street Cafe and Bar, Pourhouse, Torafuku, and longtime BATB sponsor Two Rivers Meats.
The event takes place over three hours (2 to 5 p.m.) with a VIP hour kicking off at 1 p.m.
Highlighting this year's VIP Experience will be exclusive culinary presentations from Canadian Culinary Champions, Jasper Cruickshank and Alex Chen, from Wild Blue Restaurant + Bar in Whistler, Jinhee Lee from JinBar in Calgary, Alessandro Vianello from Vianello Hospitality in Vancouver, and Derrick Sibayan from Holts Café in Vancouver.
This year, fewer tickets will be sold to ensure everyone gets their fill - but prices have been frozen at the 2022 rate.
