TO DIE FOR FOOD OF THE WEEK - VOLUME 7

Every week I compile a collection of the most mouthwatering food photos that I shot in Â鶹´«Ã½Ó³»restaurants and in my kitchen. The hashtag #todiefor denotes an item truly knee weakening in flavour.

Apple Bacon Fritter by Ìý&²¹³¾±è; Misto - two of the fine offerings at Main Street's hottest new cafe, 49th Parallel (their second in Vancouver). With warehouse lighting, brick walls, and an exposed wood beam ceiling, the space couldn't be cooler.

Forno Baked Beans & Eggs with Spinach & Sesame Cumin FlatbreadÌý²ú²âÌý at Tinhorn Creek Vineyards - somehow, food tastes better when eaten on a patio like this, overlooking miles of Oliver vineyards. The brown sugary bean sauce was surprisingly sweet but pleasant, and the soft poached eggs were runny and perfect.

Okanagan Apple Doughnut ²ú²âÌýÌý²¹³ÙÌýTinhorn Creek Vineyards - "Better than a Timbit," as our server said. Yes, they sure were - moist, dense, mildly sweet heaven.

Canned Tuna by at  - "Which is the one dish we must try?" I asked Trevor. Without blinking, he recommended this dish. I've never tasted anything like it and never would have guessed candied lemon would go so well with tuna. This is a must-try.

Sockeye Salmon with Crispy Kale and Spinach Puree ²ú²âÌýÌý²¹³ÙÌý - gorgeous presentation and an incredible mix of flavors. I would have loved to take a bag of the kale chips and a jar of the puree home.

Parmesan Peppercorn DonutÌý²ú²â  - these guys really can do no wrong. The flavours in this creation is subtle but present - and it works. Who would've thought?
