Every week I compile a collection of the most mouthwatering food photos that I shot in & around Vancouver. The hashtag #todiefor denotes an item truly knee weakening in flavour. Questions? Tweet me |
French Croissants by - which is finally open to the public! If these look a little different to you, it's because they're authentic French croissants (a bit of a rare breed here in Vancouver). If you find a flakier version in town, please let me know.
Smoked Brie, Mushroom & Arugula Omelette by - undoubtedly one of Vancouver's best brunch spots (the constant line-up, beginning just after 9am is a telltale sign). They serve big delicious portions and great bottomless coffee. Goes without saying, but this omelette was fantastic.
Masa Toast by - the buzz you've most likely heard about this new-ish East Hastings restaurant commissary is well-deserved. They serve quality food and delicious flavours. Try the Masa Toast with house made guacamole, salsa and soft eggs.
Tortilla Soup by  - the winner of the three dishes sampled. I don't believe this soup could have been better if it tried - with crunchy tortilla strips, perfectly ripe avocado and a soft egg, it hit the spot in a major way.
Tropical Scone by - another must-try from Vancouver's best new bakery cafe. The dough isn't overly sweet, so hits of candied dried pineapple, sweet coconut and white Valrhona chocolate are even more satisfying.
